Shelby Township, MI (January 20, 2021) – An automobile accident reported in Shelby Township on Tuesday evening claimed the lives of two people. On January 19, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Van Dyke Avenue.
Reports from authorities show that a Dodge Ram pickup truck, occupied by a 45-year-old man and his 12-year-old daughter, collided with a commercial truck on Van Dyke Avenue at the intersection with 21 Mile Road.
The man and his child were both fatally injured in the accident. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to render aid to the victims. However, the extent of injuries sustained by both victims was too severe.
The driver of the commercial vehicle, who has not been identified, was uninjured in the crash. At this time, the crash remains under investigation with the police in Shelby Township.
