Fatal Work Site Accidents in Michigan
Every day, millions of people across the state of Michigan head out to their place of employment. Although we expect a safe environment to perform the duties of our job, this is not always the case. The construction industry, in particular, comes with numerous uncertainties, dangerous, and unpredictable situations. Statistics show that roughly 4100 people lose their lives on the job annually. Around 800 of these workers are employed in the construction industry.
When workers lose their lives on the job, it can have a life-changing impact on their surviving relatives. In many cases, families are forced to come up with tens of thousands of dollars for funeral and burial services. Lost wages from losing a loved one can make accepting the situation seem impossible. To add to the financial burdens, many families are left with overwhelming mental and physical pain and suffering. Although the loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult things to deal with, knowing that a loved one lost their life as a result of negligence can make the situation even more challenging to accept and come to terms with. In some cases, families can reach out to a wrongful death attorney in Michigan to explore legal options available to them. When workers lose their lives in accidents as a result of another person’s negligence, defective products, or equipment, and under various other circumstances, their families may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate the financial burdens they face moving forward.
