Detroit, MI – 2-Year-Old Killed in Crash on 8 Mile Rd

Detroit, MI (September 8, 2020) – An auto accident claimed the life of a young child in the Detroit area while leaving others injured. On September 4, the Detroit Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on 8 Mile Road.

Reports provided by authorities show that a collision involving a Dodge Challenger and a white Ford Escape took place on 8 Mile Road near the intersection with Cherrylawn Street. The impact of the crash forced the Challenger off the road where it went forward and struck a building. A 2-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl, and the driver of the Ford were all rushed to area hospitals in critical condition.

Police confirmed that the 2-year-old child later succumbed to their injuries. At this time, the Detroit Police Department Fatal Squad is investigating the collision.
