Williams Township, MI (September 3, 2020) – A pedestrian accident on Wednesday claimed the lives of two women in Williams Township. On September 2, the Michigan State Police responded to the scene of a collision on US Highway 10.
Reports provided by local news sources show that a 52-year-old woman was driving east in a Chevrolet Equinox on US Highway 10 when she and her 34-year-old passenger began to argue. The driver pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and exited.
As the woman walked along the roadway, her passenger entered the vehicle and began to drive. The Equinox then struck the 52-year-old woman, causing serious injuries. As the woman laid on the side of the road, a 50-year-old woman from Essexville pulled over and attempted to render aid.
While on the side of the road, both the 52-year-old woman and the 50-year-old woman were struck by a Chevrolet Impala, which was driven by a 43-year-old male from the Bay City area. The 52-year-old woman was killed instantly in the accident.
Crews from Bay County Sheriff’s Department, Auburn-Williams Township Fire Department, Medstar Ambulatory Services responded to the scene to secure the area and provide medical treatment and transportation.
The 50-year-old female was rendered aid at the scene by MedStar Ambulatory Services and rushed to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. At this time, the crash remains under investigation with the Bay County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police.
