Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Michigan
Statistics from 2018 show that 2,728 motorcycle accidents took place across the state of Michigan. These accidents left 2,004 people injured while claiming the lives of more than 190 riders. These accidents are often more devastating when compared to collisions involving other vehicles, due to the fact that riders do not have steel frames like other vehicles to ensure their safety during collisions. Given the fact that most riders have little more than helmets to protect them during crashes, they are more vulnerable to suffer fatal injuries. The loss of a loved one can be unbearable, regardless of the circumstances. Knowing that your loved one lost their life due to the actions of another driver can make it seemingly impossible to deal with. Adding emotional stress to various other negative consequences can be overwhelming.
In many cases, families are forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on funeral expenses, burial costs, and go without wages they have grown to depend upon. Dealing with the unexpected costs after the loss of a loved one presents an array of challenges that most families are not prepared to endure. For this reason, families are able to file legal claims against at-fault parties to hold them accountable for their actions.
